Course Description

This e-learning course is designed for security managers in government institutions in South Africa who are responsible for creating, implementing, and monitoring security policies. The course provides learners with a comprehensive understanding of the key principles and best practices for developing effective security policies that align with their institution’s objectives.
 
The course covers topics such as the importance of security policies, the key elements of a security policy, legal and ethical considerations, policy development, implementation, and monitoring. Participants will learn how to create and customise security policies that reflect their institution’s unique security requirements.
 
Throughout the course, learners will engage with practical examples and real-world scenarios to develop practical skills in security policy development. Participants will learn how to analyse security risks and threats, conduct gap analyses, and develop effective security policies that align with their institution’s security objectives.
 
While the main target group for the course is security managers in the public sector, the skills and knowledge acquired during the course can also be used by security managers in the private sector. The course provides participants with a valuable toolkit for compiling effective security policies in any institution.

Assessment: Participants will be assessed through quizzes, assignments, and a final project where they will be required to develop a security policy for their respective institutions.
 
Certification: Participants who successfully complete the course will be awarded a certificate of completion by Vison DCI.
 
Enrolment: Enrollment is open to security managers in government institutions in South Africa and private security managers who wish to develop their skills in security policy development.
