Course Description

This e-learning course is designed for security managers in government institutions in South Africa who want to learn how to create an effective security plan. The course covers the basics of security planning, including identifying security risks, developing security strategies, and implementing security measures.
 
Participants will learn how to identify security vulnerabilities that must be addressed from a security threat and risk assessment they have conducted and create a security plan that addresses those vulnerabilities. The course provides learners with practical skills in managing security risks and creating a comprehensive security plan that protects their institution’s people, assets and operations. It also explains the difference between a security policy and a security plan.
 
While the main target group for the course is security managers in the public sector, the skills and knowledge acquired during the course can also be used by security managers in the private sector. The course provides participants with a valuable toolkit for enhancing their knowledge of security planning and how to create an effective security plan in any institution.

Prerequisites: Participants are expected to have basic knowledge of security management concepts and must have completed the Vision DCI “Introduction to Protective Security (Advanced)” course.
 
Assessment: Participants will be assessed through quizzes and assignments.
 
Certification: Participants who successfully complete the course will be awarded a certificate of completion by Vision DCI.
