Course Description

This e-learning course is designed for security managers in government institutions in South Africa who want to develop a comprehensive understanding of cyber security and its associated threats. The course covers the basics of cyber security, including cyber threats, attack techniques, vulnerabilities, and countermeasures.
 
Participants will learn how to identify potential cyber threats and vulnerabilities in their institutions, develop effective cyber security policies and plans, and implement risk management strategies. The course provides learners with practical skills in managing cyber security risks and defending their institution’s sensitive information and systems against cyber-attacks.
 
While the main target group for the course is security managers in the public sector, the skills and knowledge acquired during the course can also be used by security managers in the private sector. The course provides participants with a valuable toolkit for enhancing their knowledge of cyber security threats and how to prevent them in any institution.
 
Learning Outcomes: By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

Identify potential cyber threats and vulnerabilities in their institution

Understand the regulatory framework governing cyber security

Prerequisites: Participants are expected to have basic knowledge of security management concepts and must have completed the Vision DCI “Introduction to Protective Security (Advanced)” course.
 
Assessment: Participants will be assessed through quizzes and assignments.
 
Certification: Participants who successfully complete the course will be awarded a certificate of completion by Vision DCI.
 
Enrollment: Enrollment is open to security managers in government institutions in South Africa and private security managers who wish to enhance their knowledge of cyber security threats and how to prevent them.
