I had only recently discovered my interest in Security Vetting when I began interacting with Vision DCI. I had no idea what the course structure or content were, but I was aware that there was something unique about it. Because I lack any security experience or SAPS or SANDF training, I had numerous doubts. I was only interested in enrolling in the course. It finally happened in 2023; I registered. My courses: Introduction to Protective Security (Advanced) and Security Vetting (Advanced) Certifications from Vision DCI are now complete. I am grateful for the Vision DCI’s help. Throughout the training, the Vision DCI team maintains open lines of communication and offers assistance. Their website is easy to use, and the course material is of a high calibre. All I can say is that my time with Vision DCI was incredible.

Learning is healthy and through Vision DCI (Defensive Counter Intelligence) as a person in the security sector, I was introduced to the institution through communique with other SM. I contacted the Facilitators (Myra Van Der Merwe & Gerrie Mulder) for further explanation on which courses they offered and was taken through the process until the completion of the enrolment for two online courses. I started with engaging with the course material and what was amazing was that there are video clips that the learner must go through. The language/presentation is well received by the leaner and easy to understand and the assessments are relevant and practical. After completing the courses, I went to the course learning outcomes and truly met them. The Vision DCI mission, according to me, is not just to equip the leaner with a piece of paper in the form of a certificate, but to guide the learner to apply what they learned in the real world. I even met the facilitators in person, who are very welcoming. There are T-Shirts for sale and I got one for myself and am proud to wear it. I am currently in the process of enrolling for Introduction to Information Security (Advanced).
Course: Conduct Preliminary Investigations (contact training of 28 members of the Department of Water and Sanitation).
I will recommend all government investigators should take this training as to the baseline of good interviewing. Very thorough, very useful. Witness interviewing and planning an interview will be central in the adoption of best practices in my investigative unit.

My experience at Vision DCI has been exceptional. My lecturer, Myra van der Merwe, was truly invested in my success as a learner and she went an extra mile to guide me and made sure that I understood the modules. One-on-one sessions with Myra have enabled me to gain confidence in my learning ability. I had the best experience at Vision DCI and learned a lot as they also teach valuable lessons, communication and leadership skills. Although the courses are intense and advanced, they offer the best support system to enable one to feel motivated to complete the modules.

I recently completed the security vetting advance course at Vision DCI. Overall, I found the security vetting advance to be a thorough and insightful process. The team (Myra and Gerrie) handling the vetting was highly professional and exhibited a commendable attention to detail throughout the procedure. They were prompt in addressing any queries I had and ensured clarity on each step of the vetting process. The communication regarding the requirements and expectations was clear from the beginning, which helped in preparing adequately for each phase of the vetting. The team-maintained confidentiality and handled sensitive information with utmost care, which was reassuring. Overall, I appreciate the dedication and professionalism of the team involved in the security vetting advance at Vision DCI. The workshop was indeed insightful and empowering. It has changed my life in a big way and perceptions that I had and practiced before.
